For an LCR circuit, the power transferred from the driving source to the driven oscillator is `P = I^(2) Z cos phi`.

A

Here, the power factor `cos phi ge 0 , P ge 0`

B

The driving force can give no energy to the oscillator (P = 0) in some cases

C

The driving force can not syphon out `(p lt 0)` the energy out of oscillator

D

The driving force can take away eneryg out of the oscillator

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A, B, C

Power transferred from the driving source to the driven oscillator is `P = I^(2) X cos phi`. Therefore, power factor `cos phi ge` and `p ge 0`. For wattless component the driving forces shall give no energy to the oscillator `(P = 0,` when `phi = 90^(@)`). Further, the driving force connot syphon out energy out of the oscillator, i.e., P cannot be negative. Choices (a), (b), (c) are correct
