The correct Answer is:
4

Impedance of `R - C` circuit is
`Z = sqrt(R^(2) + ((1)/(omega C))^(2)) :. R sqrt(1.25) = sqrt(R^(2) + ((1)/(omega C))^(2))`
or `R^(2) xx (5)/(4) + ((1)/(omega C))^(2)` or `(R^(2))/(4) = ((1)/(omega C))^(2)`
or `(R )/(2) = (1)/(omega C)` or `RC = (2)/(omega) = (2)/(500) = 4 xx 10^(-3) s`
`tau = RC = 4 xx 10^(-3) s = 4 ms`
