A variable frequency AC source is connected to a capacitor. How will the displacement current change with decrease in frequency?

Text Solution

Current through capacitor, `I_(~)=E_(~)/(X_C)=(E_(~))/(1//omegaC)=omegaCE_(~) or I_(~)propv`.
therefore, decrease in frequency v of a.c. source decrease the conduction current. As displacement current
=conduction current, hence decrease in v decrease displacement current in circuit.
