Why do clouds generally look white ?...

Why do clouds generally look white ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The clouds are at much lower height. They are
seen by light scattered from lower parts of
atmosphere containing dust particles, ice particles, water droplets etc. As size of scatterer ` gt gt` wavelength of light, all colours are scattered
equally nearly. They merge to give us the sensation of white.
