How does magnifying power change with change in length of tube for a given telescope ?
Text Solution

For a telescope, magnifying power `|m| = (f_(0))/(f_(e)) = (f_(0))/(u_(e))`, and `L = (f_(0) + u_(e))` In a telescope, `f_(0)` is fixed. When `L` is increased, `u_(e)` increases. Hence magnifying power will decrease.
