Bohr's model of hydrogen atom....

Bohr's model of hydrogen atom.

A

the radius of the nth orbit is proportional to `n^(2)`

B

the total energy of the electron is nth orbit is inversely proportional to n

C

the angular momentum of electron in nth orbit is an integral multiple of `h/(2pi)`

D

the magnitude of potential energy of the electron in any orbit is greater than its K.E.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A, C, D

Radius of Bohr's orbit is given by `r=(n^(2)h^(2))/(4pi^(2)mKe^(2))`
Hence `rpropn^(2)`
angular momentum of `e^(-)` in nth orbit is integral multiple of `h/(2pi)` as `mvr=(nh)/(2pi)`.
magnitude of P.E. =`(KZe^(2))/r`
and magnitude of K.E.=`(KZe^(2))/(2r)`
so magnitude of P.E. is greater than that of K.E.
