By increasing load resistance, can we increase or not, the gain of a transistor indefinitly?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No, because if load resistance `R_(L)` increases, `V_(CE)` decreases `( :' V_(CE)=V_(CB)-I_c R_(L))`. If `V_(CE)`becomes less than `V_(EB)`, both the junction of a transistor become forward biased. Then the transistor is said to be in saturation state and does not work as an amplifier.
