Write the function of three segments of a transistor.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The three segments of a transistor are:
Emitter (E). It is a left hand side thick layer of the transistor which is heavily doped. It provides the majority carriers when suitably biased.
Bass . It is a central thin layer of the yransistor, which is lightly doped. It provides interaction between emitter and collector.
collector . It is a right hand side thick layer of the transistor which is moderately doped. It collects the majority carriers coming from emitter through base.
