Why do we have better high radio frequency reception at night?

At night, D and E layers of ionosphere is earth's
atmosphere disappear. Also, there is
combination of `F_1 and F_2` layers into one F - layer
at night. As a result of it, there is less absorption of
HF signals by earth's atmosphere at night.
hence we have better HF reception at night.
