Distinguish between Sky wave and Space w...

Distinguish between Sky wave and Space wave modes of propagation in a communication system.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Sky wave propagation: (i) It is a mode of wave
propagation in which the radiowaves emitted
from the transmitter antenna reach the receiving
antenna after reflection by the ionosphere.
(ii) In sky wave propagation, the radiowaves of
frequencies range from generally 3 MHz to 30 MHz is used.
Space wave propagation: (i) It is a mode of
wave propagation in which the radio waves
emitted from the trasmitter antenna reach the
receiving antenna directly throught the space.
(ii) In space wave propagation, the radiowaves
of frequencies range from 54 MHz to 890 MHz is
used.
