The carrier frequency of a station is 40 MHz. A resistor of `10 kOmega`and a capacity of `12 muF` are available in the detector circuit, Is it good enough for detection? Explain.

Here, `R = 10 k Omega = 10 xx 10^3 Omega , C = 12 pF = 12 xx 10^(-12) F`
`v_c = 40 MHz = 40 xx 10^6 Hz = 4 xx 10^7 Hz`
Time period of carrier frequency, `T_c = 1/v_c = 1/( 4 xx 10^7) = 2.5 xx 10^(-8) s`
Time constant of C-R circuit, `tau = RC = (10 xx 10^3) xx (12 xx 10^(-12)) = 12 xx 10^(-8) s`
As `T_c lt tau`, therefore, circuit is good enough for detection.
