A sinusoidal carrier voltage is amplitude modulated by a sinusoidal votage of 10 kHz to a depth of 40%. If the carrier frequency is 10 MHz and carrier amplitude is 40V, what are the frequencies and amplitude of two side bands?

9.99 MHz ; 10.01 MHz; 8.0V.

`v_m = 10kHz = 0.010 MHz, mu 40%`
`v_c = 10MHz, A_c = 40 V`
Freq. of USB = `v_c + v_m = 10 + 0.010`
`= 10.01 MHz`.
Fre. of LSB `= v_c - v_m = 10 - 0.010 = 9.99 MHz`
Amplitude of each side band
`= (muA_C)/2 = (0.40 xx 40)/2 = 8.0 V`.
