A 100 kHz band width is to accommodate 10 AM broadcasting stations simultaneously. What is the maximum modulating frequency permissible for each station?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
5 kHz

If `v kHz` is maximum modulating frequency permissible , then band width required for each station ` = 2 v`.
`:.` Number of stations ` = ("total band width" )/(2v)`
`10 = (100 kHz)/( 2 v)`
` v = (100)/( 10 xx 2 ) = 5 kHz`
