Transducer is a device used for converting a non-electrical signal into electrical signal or vice-versa. The transducers are used as measuring instruments for the variation in electrical signal being a function of the input. Therefore, the term transducer is applied to gramophone pick ups, microphones and loudspeakers and not for amplifer.
