If both the length of an antenna and the wavelength of the signal to be transmitted are doubled, the power radiated by the antenna

A

is doubled

B

is halved

C

increases 16 times

D

remains constant

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Power radiated by the antenna is proportional to `(l//lambda)^(2)`. When both, the length of the antenna l and wavelenght of the signal `lambda` are doubled then `(l//lambda)^(2)` remains unchanged. Due to it, the power radiated by the antenna remains constant.
