Greenhouse 'warming' is caused by an atomosphere which is

A

transparent to visible light but opaque to infrared light

B

transparent to both visible and infrared light

C

opaque to both visible and infrared light

D

warming due to the hot air from the world's increasing population

Text Solution

The atomosphere is transparaent to certain wavelenghts of radiation belonging to visible region but is not transparent to certain longer wavelengths of radiation beloging toinfared through atmosphere interact with eart. The wavelenght which are trapped inbetween atomosphere and earth. This effect helps to keep green house butter than the atmospheric temperature is winter to grwo plants which cannot survive in winter.
