The correct Answer is:
D

To recover the audiosignal in the AM detector , the output is fed to a parallel combination of a low value capacitor (C ) and a resistance R and for demodulation (detection) the following condition must be satisfied
`1/f_c "lt" RC`
In this case , `C=10^(-12)F` and `R=10^6 Omega`
`therefore RC=10^6xx10^(-12) = 10^(-6) s` [`1/f` is measured in second]
`because 1/f lt RC`
`therefore f_c gt 1/"RC" = 1/(10^(-6)) =10^6 ` Hz = 1 MHz
Thus the carrier frequency should be gt gt 1 MHz
`therefore ` It can detect the frequency of 2 MHz
