A wire having a linear density `0.1 kg//m` is kept under a tension of `490N`. It is observed that it resonates at a frequency of `400 Hz`. The next higher frequency is `450 Hz`. Find the length of the wire.

A

0.4m

B

0.7m

C

0.6m

D

0.49m

The correct Answer is:
B

`=n_2-n_1 = 450-400 = 50`
`therefore n= (1)/(2l) sqrt(T/m)`
`therefore l=(1)/(2n) sqrt(T/m) = (1)/(2xx50)sqrt((490)/(0.1))`
`=1/100 xx70 = 0.7m`
