For an aqueous solution of the same solute , in terms of concentration,

A

1 M =1 m

B

1 M gt 1 m

C

1 m gt 1 M

D

Any of these is possible

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

1M solution contins 1 mole of the solute in 1000 C.C of the solution which includes the solute i.e. mass of solvent is less than 1000 g as 'd' of `H_(2)O`1 g /cc. Thus 1 M solution contains 1 mole of solute in less than 1000g of solvent, whereas 1 m solution has 1 mole of solute in 1000 g of solvent. Hence 1 M is more concentrated than 1m.
