The high boiling point of alcohols and amines is due to intermolecular hydrogen bonding . Alcohols have higher boiling point than amines, because of more electronegativity of oxygen than nitrogen . Carbonyl compounds have no hydrogen bonding . The dipole-dipole forces of carbonyl compounds causes them to have higher boiling point but less than compounds which have intermolecular hydrogen bonding.
