The sum of the areas of six surfaces of a cube is 216 sq-cm, find the volume of the cube.

Let the length of each side of the cube be a cm. the total surface areas of the cube `=6a^2 ` sq - cm
As per the question `1.6 x = 240 rArr x= 216/6 = 36 a = sqrt(36) = 6.`
`therefore` the volume of the cube `=6^3 "cc"=216 "cc"`
