If 64 water filled buckets of equal measure are taken out from a cubical water fiUed tank, then `1/3`rd of water remains in the tank. If the length of one edge of the tank is 1 ·2 m, then calculate the quantity of water that can be hold in each bucket ?

Text Solution

The length of one edge of the tank = l ·2 metres = 12 dcm
` therefore` the volume of the whole tank` =(12 xx 12 xx 12 )` cu- dcm = 1728 cu- dcm .
The lank remais full of water `1/3 rd ` part of it.
So, the volume of the water drawn `=(1728 xx 2/3 )` cu - dcm = 1152 cu- cm = 1152 liters.
So, 1152 litres water can be hold in 64 buckets
`therefore` 1 bucket can be hold in 64 buckets.
