Starting from rest, due to the gravitational force of the Earth i.e. 733N, What is the speed of Mahendra after 1 second? If his mass is 75 kg.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given: Initial velocity `(u)=0m//s`
Force `(F)=733N`
Mass `(m)=75kg`
Time `(t)=1s`
To find: Final velocity `(v)=?`
Fromulae`v=u+at, a=F/M`
Solution:
`a=733/75`
`:.a=9.77m//s^(2)`
`v=u+at`
`0+9.77xx1`
`=9.77m//s`
The speedof Mahendra after 1 second is 9.77 m/s

A rocket is fired from the earth towards the sun. At what distance from the earth’s centre is the gravitational force on the rocket zero ? Mass of the sun = 2 xx 10^(30) kg. Mass of the earth = 6xx10^(24) kg. Neglect the effect of other planets etc. (orbittal radtus = 1.5 xx 10^(11) m ).

As you have learnt in the text, a geostationary satellite orbits the earth at a height of nearly 36,000 km from the surface of the earth. What is the potential due to earth’s gravity at the site of this satellite ? (Take the potential energy at infinity to be zero). Mass of the earth = 6.0 xx 10^(24) kg." radius" = 6400 km .

Two small bodies of masses 10 kg and 20 kg are kept a distance 1.0 m apart and released. Assuming that only mutual gravitational force are acting, find the speeds of the particles when the separation decreases to 0.5 m.

A body weighs 63 N on the surface of the earth. What is the gravitational force on it due to the earth at a height equal to half the radius of the earth ?

A particle starts its motion from rest under the action of a constant force. If the distance covered in first 10 seconds is S_1 and that covered in the first 20 seconds is S_2 then:

Find the distance of a point from the earth's centre where the resultant gravitational field due to the earth and the moon is zero. The mass of the earth is 6.0xx10^24 kg and that of the moon is 7.4x10^22 kg. The distance between the earth and the moon is 4.0xx10^5km .

What is the gravitational potential energy of the Earth and sun ? The Earth to sun distance is arouund 150 million Km . The mass of the Earth is 5.9 xx 10^(24) kg and the mass of the sun is 1.9 xx 10^(30) kg.
