In the below experiment the wire moves throught the ice slab. However the ice slab does not break.
Why ?

On applying pressure the melting ponit ice of reduces and it melts. As the wire moves down, the pressure is removed the melting point comes back to normal and water freezes back to ice again. Thus, the ice slab does not breaks .
