What is the use of pine oil in this process ?

Explanation

The use of pine oil in the process is as follows :
(i) Pine oil is hydrophobic in nature and also it attracts the particles of sulphide ore.
(ii) Thus the particles of sulphide ore get wetted by pine oil.
(iii) Due to air supply and agitation, pine oil forms a froth which floatson the surface of water. Thus the particls of sulphide ore are separated from water.
(iv) The gangue particles get wetted by water and are removed from the bottom.
