The correct Answer is:
C

( c) For Balmer series
`(1)/(lamda) = R[(1)/(2^2) -(1)/(n^2)]`
where `n = 3,4,5,….oo`
The obtain the limits for Balmer series `n = 3` and `n = oo` respectively.
`lamda_(max) (n=3) = (1)/(R[(1)/(2^2) -(1)/(3^2)]] = (36)/(5 R)`
=`(36)/(5 xx 1.0968 xx 10^7) m = 6563 Å`
`lamda_(min) (n = oo) = (1)/(R[(1)/(2^2) -(1)/(oo^2)]] = (4)/(R)`
=`(4)/(1.0968 xx 10^7) m = 3647 Å`.
