A shark POD is shark protective oceaning device, which has been developed to protect divers from sharks. The sharks are known to be sensitive to weak electric fields.
A shark POD consists of two metal electrodes - one attached to diver's fins and other to diver's air tank. These electrodes produe a strong electric field around the diver. The sharks being sensitive even to weak electric fields, turn away to a distance of upto about 7 meter from the diver.
