The inroduction fo dielectric slab between the capacitor plates increases the capacitance. Why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

A dielectric slab of dielectric constant K reduces the electric field from E to `E//K`. This reduces the potential differences from V to `V//K`. Hence the capacitance increases from C to KC.
