In a parallel plate capacitor shown in F...

In a parallel plate capacitor shown in Fig, the potential difference of 100V is maintained between the plates. If distances between the plaes is 5mm, what will be the electric field at points A and B ?

Here, V = 100 volt, `d = 5mm = 5xx10^(-3)m`
As is known, electric field E between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor is constant and is given by
`E = (V)/(d) = (100)/(5xx10^(-3)) = 2xx10^(4) N//C`
As both the points A and B lie inside the two plates of the capacitor, value of electric field at points A and B is `E = 2xx10^(4) N//C`
