A system has two charges `q_(A)= +2.5xx10^(-7)C and q_(B)= -2.5xx10^(-7)C` located at point A: (0,0,-15 cm)and B: (0,0,+15 cm)`, respectively. What are the total charge and electric dipole moment of the system?

Two charges `q_(A) and q_(B)` are located at points A `(0,0, -15)` and B `(0,0, 15)` on a Z-axis, as shown in Fig. They form an electric dipole.
Total charge `q = q_(A) + q_(B) = 2.5xx10^(-7) - 2.5xx10^(-7) = 0`
Also, `AB = 15+15 = 30 cm = 30xx10^(-2)m`
Electric dipole moment,
p = either charge `xxAB = 2.5xx10^(-7)xx(30xx10^(-2)) = 7.5xx10^(-8) C-m`
The direcrtion of `vec(p)` is along BA, i.e., along negative Z-axis.
