Six equal resistances each of 4 ohm are connected to form a net work as shown in figure .
What is the resistance between A and B ?

The upper five resistances between A and B will form a balanced wheatstone bridge. Hence there will be no current in arm CO. The equivalent circuit will be as shown in figure. Here, resistance of arm ACB, AOB and Ab are all in parallel. The effective resistance R is given by
`1/R =(1)/((4+4)) + 1/(4+4) + 1/4 = (1+1+2)/8 = 4/8 = 1/2`
`R = 2 Omega`
