The sensitiveness of a potentiometer means the smallest potential difference that can be measured with its help and for a small change in pot. Diff. to be measured it shows a large change in balancing length. The sensitiveness of a potentiometer can be increased by decreasing its potential gradient. This can be achieved,
(a) by increasing the length of potentiometer wire.
(b) If the potentiometer wire is of fixed length, the potential gradient can be decreased by reducing the current in the potentiometer wire circuit by increasing the resistance with the help of rheostat.
