The circuit shows in Fig . `6.33` shows the use of potentiometer to measure the internal resistance of a cell.
(a) When the key is open, how does the balance point change, if the driver cell decreases ?
(b) When the key is closed, how does the balance point change, if `R` is increased, keeping the current from the driver cell constant ?

(i) When the key K is open and current from the driver cell increases, the potential gradient across the potentiometer wire increases. Due to it, the balance point shifts towards the end A of potentiometer wire.
(ii) When the key k is closed and R is decreased, keeping the current from the driver cell constant, the terminal potential difference of the cell decrease. Due to it, the balance point shifts towards the end A of potentiometer wire.

Consider the potentiometer circuit for determining the internal resistance of a cell. When switch S is open, the balance point is found to be at 75 cm os the wire. When switch S is closed and value of R is 4 Omega , the balance points shifts to 60 cm . find the internal resistance of cell. .

Figure shows a 2.0V potentiometer used for the determination of internal resistance of a 1.5V cell , When the key is not inserted in the plug , the balance point is at 60 cm and in the closed circuit the balance point is at 50 cm. Find the internal resistance of the cell .

When a balance point is obtained in a potentiometer for finding the internal resistance of a cell, the current through the potentiometer wire is due to

A 2.0 V potentiometer is used to determine the internal resistance of 1.5 V cell. The balance point of the cell in the circuit is 75 cm . When a resistor of 10Omega is connected across cel, the balance point sifts to 60 cm . The internal resistance of the cell is

In an experiment with a potentiometer to measure the internal resistance of a cell. when the cell in the secondary circuit is by shounted by 5 Omega , the null point is at 220 cm . When the cell is shunted by 20 Omega the null point is at 300 cm . Find the internal resistance of the cell.

In an experiment to measure the internal resistance of a cell by a potentiometer, it is found that the balance point is at a length of 2 m when the cell is shunted by a 5 Omega resistance and is at a length of 3 m when the cell is shunted by a 10 Omega resistance, the internal resistance of the cell is then

In an experiment on the measurement of internal resistance of as cell by using a potentionmeter, when the key K is kept open then balancing length is obtained at y metre. When the key K is closed and some resistance R is inserted in the resistance box, then the balancing length is found to be x metre. Then the internal resistance is
