When current is passed through a heater, the heat is generated continously in it but its temperature becomes constant after sometime . Why ?

When the temperature of heater becomes more than the temperature of surroundings, it starts lossing heat to surroundings. Finally a stage is reached at which the rate of production of heat becomes equal to the rate of loss of heat. At this stage, the temperature becomes constant.
