In series combination current `I` is same in nichrome and copper wires. Heat produced, `H = I^(2)R t = I^(2) rho l/A t or H prop rho` (as `I, l, A, t` are constant). Then `H_(Nich)/H_(Cu) = rho_(Nich)/rho_(Cu) gt 1` (`:' rho_(Nich) gt rho_(Cu)`) So `H_(Nich) gt H_(Cu)` Thus nichrome wire will produce more heat.
