What do you mean by specification of a bulb or other electric appliances ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When the specification of a bulb or any electric applinace is given (say 220 V, 100 W), then its resistance R and maximum current allowed can be estimated. In the above example, the resistance of bulb, `R = V^(2)//P = (220)^(2)//100`
`= 484 Omega`
and maximum current `I = P//V = 100//220 = 5//11 A`
