Among the following dissocitation constant is highest for .

A

`C_(6)H_(5)OH`

B

`C_(6)H_(5)CH_(2)OH`

C

`CH_(3)C-=CH`

D

`CH_(3)NH_(3)^(+)Cl^(-)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

Dissociation of proton from `CH_(3)-overset(+)(H_(3))Cl^(-)` is very difficult due to `-I` effect of `Cl^(-)` and `N^(+)` while in `C_(6)H_(5)CH` due easily, similarly due to `H`-bonding in `C_(6)H_(5)CH_(2)OH` it can be eliminated and `CH_(3)-=CH` shows acidic character by triple bond by which proton can be dissociated.
