Demonstrate that the law of electric ...

Demonstrate that the law of electric charge conservation, i.e., `grad. J = -del rho//del t`, follows from Maxwell's equactions.

From the equction `Curl vec(H) - (del vec(D))/(del t) = vec(j)`
we get on taking divergence of both sides
`- (del)/(del t)` div `vec(D) = di v vec(j)`
But div `vec(D) = rho` and hence div `vec(j) + (del rho)/(del t) = 0`

Consider the following two statement. (A) Kirchhoff's junction law follows from the conservation of charge. (B) Krichhoff's loop law follows from the conservation of energy. Which of the following is correct ?

Assertion : When bodies are charged through friction, there is a transfer of electric charge from one body to another, but no creation or destruction of charge. Reason : This follows from conservation of electric charges.

Consider the following two statements: (A)Kirchhoff's junction law follows from conservation of charge. (B)Kirchhoff's loop law follows from conservative nature of electirc field .

(a) State the law of conservation of momentum. (b) Discuss the conservation of momentum in each of the following cases : (i) a rocket taking off from ground. (ii) flying of a jet aeroplane.

A ray of light propagating in an isotropic medium with refractive index n varying gradually from point to points has a curvature radius rho determined by the formula (1)/(rho) = (del)/(del N) (In n) , where the derivative is taken with respect to the principle normal to the ray. Derivethis formula, assuming that is such a medium the law of refraction n sin theta = const holds. Here theta is the angle between the ray and the direction of the vector Delta n at a given point.

Assertion: In an elasticcollision of two billard balls, the total KE is conservation during the short times of collision of the balls (i.e., when they are in constant). Reason: Energy spend against friction does not follow the law of conservation of energy.

An infinite line charge of uniform electric charge density lambda lies along the axis of an electrically conducting infinite cylindrical shell of radius R. At time t=0 , the space inside the cylinder is filled with a material of permittivity epsilon and electrical conductivity sigma . The electrical conduction in the material follows Ohm's law. Which one of the following graphs best describes the subsequent variation of the magnitude of current density j(t) at any point in the material ?
