A truck has front wheels of radius 0.7m ...

A truck has front wheels of radius `0.7m` and its rear wheel radius `1.4m` .If rear wheel takes `500` revolutions to travel a certain distance, how many revolutions must the front wheel had taken to cover the same distance? Also find the difference in their areas?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`n_f*(2pir_1)=r_r(2pir_2)`
`n_f*(2pi*0.7)=500*2pi*1.4`
`n_f=1000`
area of front wheat`(A_1)=pir_1^2=1.54`
area of real wheel`(A_2)=pir_2^2=6.16m^2`
Difference in area=`A_2-A_1`
`=6.16-1.54=4.62m^2`
