A plot of magnetic flux `(phi)` versus current (I) is shown in figure for two inductors A and B. Which of the two has larger value of selfinductance?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As we know,
magnetic flux `(phi)` = self-inductance (L) `xx` current (I)
or, `L=(phi)/(I)` = slope of the graph
Slope of `phi-I` graph for inductor A is greator than that for inductor B. Therefore inductor A has larger value of self inductance.
