An LC circuit has L =20 mH , `C=50muF` and initial charge 10 mC the resistance being negligible.
If a resistor is inserted in the circuit, how much energy is dissipated as heat?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When a resistor is connected in the circuit, all the energy stored in the circuit (i.e., 1J) will be displaced as heat energy since the LC oscillation will be damped ans stop ultimately.
