A body of mass 100 g has a volume of 40 cc. determine the density for the material of the body. If the density of water be 1 g/cc, then state whether the body will sink or float in water.

Here, mass=100g, volume=40cc
`therefore `Density of the material of the body`=("Mass")/("Volume")=(100)/(40)g/c.c=2.5g/c c`
Since the density of the body (2.5g/cc) is greater than the density of water (1g/cc), so that body will sink in water.
