Given : `(v)/(u)=4 therefore v=4u and u+v=50 cm`
`therefore 4u+u=50 therefore u=10 cm and v=40 cm `
For the convex lens, `(1)/(v)-(1)/(u)=(1)/(f)` and u is negative.
`therefore (1)/(40)+(1)/(10)=(1)/(f) therefore (5)/(40)=(1)/(f) therefore f=8 cm`
`therefore` Focal power `=(1)/(f)` where f is in metre or `P=(100)/(f)`
`therefore P=(100)/(8)=12.5D`
