For a stationary wave, `t = 8 sin ((pix)/(20)) cos (50 pit)`. What is the distance between two successive antinode ?

A

15 cm

B

20 cm

C

25 cm

D

30 cm

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

`y = 8 sin ((pix)/20) cos (50 pi t)`
` = 8 sin ((2pix)/40) cos (50 pi t)`
Comparing with the standard equation , we get ,
`(2pi x)/lambda = (2 pi x)/40 :. lambda = 40 cm `
` :. ` Distance between two sucessive antinodes
` = lambda/2 = 20 ` cm.
