Two wires are producing fundamental notes of the same frequency. Change in which of the following factors of one wire will not produce beats between them

A

Material of the wire

B

Stretching force ( weight attached to the wire)

C

Amplitude of vibrations

D

Diameter of the wire

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
C

The relation ` n = 1/(2L) sqrt(T/(pi r^(2) rho)) ` show that n will change if we change r, T and `rho` ( density) and hence material and beats will be produced. But n does not change with amplitude of vibration .
