For a parallel plate capacitor, `C=(epsi_(0)A)/(d)`
When it is charged and the charrging battery is disconnected and then the distance between the plates is increased, then
(i) Charge on the capacitor remains constant.
`therefore` (c) is wrong statement.
(ii) `therefore Cprop(1)/(d)`,
`therefore`The capacitance is decreased when d is increased.
(iii) `becauseQ=CV` and for constant `Q,Vprop(1)/(C)`
As C is decreased, P.D. is increased.
(iv) The electrostatic energy `=(1)/(2)QV`
and as Q is constant `E propV` and hence it increases. thus (a), (b) and (d) are correct statements.
