What is the potential difference between A and B in the following circuit?

A

13.2 V

B

`-13.2V`

C

`-6V`

D

6V

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

The resultant P.D.`=16-6=10V`
The condensers of `2muF and 3muF` are in series.
`therefore C_(S)=(2xx3)/(2+3)=(6)/(5)muF`
As they are in series, charge on `(2muF)`
=Charge on `3muF=C_(S)V=(6)/(5)xx10=12muC`
`therefore`P.D. between A and B.
`(V_(AB))=(Q)/(C)=-(12xx10^(6))/(2xx10^(-6))=-6V`
