When threee capacitors of equal capacit...

When threee capacitors of equal capacities are connected in parallel and one of the same capacity is connected in series withs its combination . The resultant capacity is `3.75 muF`. The capacity of each capacitor is

A

`5muF`

B

`6muF`

C

`7muF`

D

`8muF`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

For 3 parallel capacitors, `C_(P)=3C`
and 3C and C are joined in series,
`therefore C_(eq)=(3CxxC)/(3C+C)=(3C^(2))/(4C)=(3C)/(4)`
and `C_(eq)=3.75muF`
`therefore C=(4xxC_(eq))/(3)=(4xx3.75)/(3)=4xx1.25=5muF`
