A voltmeter of range 2 V and resistance ...

A voltmeter of range 2 V and resistance `300 Omega` cannot be converted into ammeter of range

A

`100 mA`

B

`1 mA`

C

`10 mA`

D

`1 A`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

The maximum current that can pass through the voltmeter is`I_max=2/300A=2/300xx1000mA=20/3mA=6.67mA`.Wr cannot convert it into an ammteter to read 10mA,100mA or 1 A i.e we can increase its range but we cannot decrease the range. `therefore` It cannot be converted into an ammeter to measure 1mA.
