Which of the following option represents...

Which of the following option represents correct limiting reagents in reactions(i),(ii) and (iii) respectively.

A

`C,N_2,O_2`

B

`C,N_2,P_4`

C

`O_2,H_2,P_4`

D

`O_2,N_2,P_4`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
D

(d) `n_(C)=(26g)/(12g//mol)=2.16`
`n_(O_(2))=(20g)/(32g//mol)=0.625`
`O_(2)` will be a limiting reagent in reaction (i)
`n_(N_(2))=(60g)/(28g//mol)=2.14`
`n_(H_(2))=40`
According to balanced equation,
1 mole of `N_(2)` requires 32 mole of `H_(2)`
2.14 mole of `N_(2)` require 6.42 mole of `H_(2)` `N_(2)` will be a limiting reagnet in reaction (ii)
`n_(P_(4))=(100g)/(4xx31)=0.86" "n_(O_(2))=6.25`
According to balanced equatio 1 mole of `P_(4)` require 3 mole of `O_(2)` 0l.86 mole of `P_(4)` require 2.58 mole of `O_(2)` so `P_(4)` is a limiting reagent in reaction (iii)
